Tuğba Tekkal is a former professional footballer and human rights activist. Together with her sisters, she founded the association HÁWAR.help and the educational initiative German Dream, with which they campaign for human rights, anti-discrimination and democracy. In 2016, Tuğba founded the empowerment and sports project SCORING GIRLS*, which aims to strengthen the participation of young women and girls, regardless of their origin, religion or socio-economic status. There are now ten locations in Cologne, Berlin and Iraq. In 2022, Tuğba co-hosted the podcast "Sold Out - Qatar, Football and Big Money". In 2023, her book "Gateway to Freedom" was published, in which she tells her whole story.
