Bettina Rulofs researches and teaches on social justice and equal opportunities in sport. She studied sports science in Cologne and completed her doctorate on gender relations in sports media at the German Sport University Cologne. She held various positions at the Universities of Vienna, Paderborn and Wuppertal before taking up the only professorship for diversity research in sports science in Germany at the Sport University in 2021. Together with her team, she is committed to research that uncovers existing discrimination in sport and develops concepts for the promotion of social diversity, anti-discrimination and violence prevention on this basis.
