Matthias Groeneveld

Matthias Groeneveld

Soccer is a central companion in Matthias Groeneveld's life. He grew up on the coast in East Frisia and has lived in Munich since 2002. He became part of the buntkicktgut family during his studies (education), where Matthias has been working since the end of 2008. For many years, Matthias Groeneveld was active as a street football worker on the streets and in the parks of Munich, always with the ball under his arm. He is now primarily responsible for the structures of buntkicktgut in Munich and beyond. He looks after the young players in Munich, coordinates the buntkicktgut events and supports the other locations in Germany. His passion for soccer, especially FC Bayern, was the trigger for Matthias to move from his home in East Frisia to Munich in the south.

He has been following FC Bayern as a fan throughout Europe since the early 2000s. This enthusiasm led Matthias Groeneveld to found the Kurt Landauer Foundation in 2017 together with fellow fans. Named after the former Jewish president of FC Bayern, it brings the history of the club to life, brings new things to mind and gives recognition to people who were often not in the limelight but dedicated their lives to the club.
