Aly Gillani is the European label representative for Bandcamp, a thriving global music community where fans discover new artists, connect with them and pay them directly for their work. Aly Gillani's role is to support the growing network of labels and artists who use Bandcamp to connect with their fans. He is also the founder / A&R for Worldwide Awards winning label of the year First Word Records, home to Children Of Zeus, Tall Black Guy, Eric Lau, Kaidi Tatham, Tawiah and many more.

Originally a club promoter, he ran the seminal Funky Mule and New Bohemia club nights in his adopted home of Leeds for many years. Since founding First Word in 2004, he has also been an acclaimed DJ with regular appearances at numerous European venues and on London radio stations Balamii and Worldwide FM.
