Anyone who knows TYM knows that he doesn't just speak Denglish half-heartedly - and for good reason. Growing up with English in Stuttgart with South African parents with German/Belgian roots, it was the most normal thing in the world to mix languages. To this day, he not only combines two languages in his music, but also several genres effortlessly. True to the motto: Expect the unexpected. A bit of indie here, a bit of glitch, synth or hyper pop there. TYM doesn't take it that seriously. He is more interested in what feeling his music triggers and what it should say - the balance between the light-hearted and melancholy in life.

TYM began writing his own songs in the 2010s after years of musical training on drums and vocals and preferring to organize his first gigs in youth clubs instead of sitting bored at school. In addition to music, he was also influenced by sports during this time: basketball, soccer and swimming - the Stuttgart skate scene became like a second home.

TYM is a multi-talented musician. He records, produces, mixes and masters some of his songs himself. At the same time, TYM is surrounded by a huge collective of musicians and producers. These include Gunboi, badchieff, Luis t low, Slim Pharao, leqn, ioni, Enzo gaier, Alecto, nadirbeats . On the one hand, songs are written together almost like a band. This close collaboration with his producers is what makes working for TYM so special. On the other hand, there are also times when he simply writes songs alone on his PC.

After a long time as an independent artist, the Stuttgart native has been distributed by Columbia since 2021. In May 2022, TYM played as support on the German stops of the Denzel Curry "Melt My Eyez" tour. He was also nominated for the Newcomer Award 2022. TYM played his first sold out tour in December 2022 and in September 2023 the 2nd tour will start. Several festivals are planned for summer 2023.
