During the November 2022 session, a project that had been repeatedly put on the agenda by the Forum Musikwirtschaft, among others, in the preceding months was surprisingly included on the political to-do list of the traffic light coalition: a nationwide cultural voucher based on the model of its European neighbors. From the age of 18, young people are to receive 200 euros, which they can invest in records, musical instruments, sheet music, festival and concert tickets, among other things. From the summer of 2023, the "KulturPass" should be redeemable and both inspire young people for cultural diversity and strengthen the demand for cultural goods and thus the creative industries. In the panel, the Forum Music Industry will explore the question of who should and can benefit from the "KulturPass. What experiences can we learn from the French project? What hopes do the players have for the "KulturPass"? What efforts and hurdles arise in the practical implementation? What do providers have to consider and what do young people want to spend the money on?
