Max Baby never really learned how to make music. He simply did it — instinctively, obsessively. From the outset, he was recording his own songs, entirely self-taught, learning by layering, by failing, by beginning again. As a solo artist, he is carving out a sound that resists easy categorization — somewhere between post-modern indie, alternative rock, alt-electronics and synthetic intimacy.
