With four albums released, Ebow has long established herself as one of the most important voices in German rap, delivering one or two anthems for the naturally political among millennials and Gen Zs. ZEIT put it this way:
“She writes politically correct and grammatically incorrect lyrics about misogyny in her scene and xenophobia in her country.”
On her latest album, “FC CHAYA,” she focuses entirely on the LGBTQIA+ community and delivers queer love songs that have never been heard before in Germany. The sound shifts between indie rock influences, RnB, and the cloud rap aesthetic of Y2K. In turbulent times, she seems to be telling us, no message is more important than love itself.
