Kevin does what he wants. That's always been the case. Musically or in life, it doesn't matter. He always goes in the direction he is drawn to. It's more a reflex than a conscious decision. His way of writing lyrics has developed through all kinds of influences. No matter if rap, punk or indie. But the character remains consistent.
