Dottie Andersson is a songwriter and composer from Småland, Sweden.

Growing up in a musical family impacted her musical sense from early on. In her early twenties she studied drums at the university of popular music and music business in Mannheim. At the same time she formed a band with her three younger sisters called Ason, with which she played festivals and supported established artists such as Milow or Matt Simons. With this variety of experience Andersson decided to head towards a different direction in music in 2020.

With some of her muses and role models being Veronica Maggio, Bon Iver, Caroline Polachek or Phoebe Bridgers, Dottie Andersson has created music with an unapologetic stance that mirrors who she actually is. Like her person, the music is a mix of sweet melancholy, dark cheekiness and a particular stubbornness with an all enchanting aura.
It’s the melodic, Swedish sense of pop, combined with electronic and indie elements that bridges the gap between the indie friends and the pop fans.

Since 2020 she’s produced and recorded an array of songs with producer Martin Baumgartner. Now, with her upcoming EP and debuting her solo project as Dottie Andersson, she is setting a strong international mark with 6 songs mixed by Jeff Fettig (Caroline Polachek, Maggie Rogers, Solange) and mastered by Joe Lambert (Sofi Tukker, Daughter, Moby).

The concert is part of the funding project "c/o pop 2023 musichubgermany" and is supported by the Initiative Musik gemeinnützige Projektgesellschaft GmbH with project funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.
