c/o pop
In 2009 c/o pop notched up over 30,000 visitors and 1,200 accredited industry guests from over 30 countries.
After five days of »Pop Culture 2.0« in Cologne, involving over 50 events and more than 200 international artists, cologne on pop GmbH looks back with pride on the most successful c/o pop since its establishment in 2004. With ten separate shows sold out, two hugely well-received concerts in Cologne’s Philharmonic Hall by Beirut and The Notwist & Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra, The Whitest Boy Alive in Offenbachplatz, Kompakt »Total 10« in the Opernterrassen, Gonzales at »Herr von Eden« and Metronomy in Gloria Theater, the expectations of the c/o pop programme planners were exceeded by far and sent the festival’s visitor figures into a new dimension.
The report of the reformatted business forum c/o pop Convention was also positive across the board. Two days of heated and controversial discussion were dedicated to the future of the music industry. The number of accredited guests and panellists increased significantly on previous years confirming that c/o pop is on the right track, even in today’s difficult climate.
